About this piece
The Helmsley is a bold long-grain piece, with dark walnut bands running the length of the board and pale strips giving it a clean, graphic rhythm. The design reads strongly from across a kitchen but stays orderly up close.
It weighs just over 3 kg, so it feels planted for prep and carving. A juice groove, eased edges, recessed grips and rubber feet make the board practical as well as striking, suited to a counter where it can stay out between uses.

Best for chopping boards and pieces that need to feel solid, practical, and made for real everyday use.
Black Walnut

A dark, temperamental timber - quiet under oil, dramatic under light.
A deep chocolate-brown hardwood that develops warmer, sometimes violet undertones when oiled. Black Walnut is slightly softer than oak, with a richer, more expressive grain that makes it a striking choice for a chopping board meant to be looked at as well as used. Durable enough for regular use, but prized just as much for its depth, contrast, and the way it ages beautifully.
Care instructions
Wash by hand with mild soap and warm water. Towel dry straight away and stand the board on edge until fully dry.
Do not soak, dishwash, or leave beside direct heat. Re-oil when the surface starts to look dry; for regular use, every 4-8 weeks is a sensible rhythm.

We ship to Great Britain & Northern Ireland: a flat £9.97, added at checkout, and free on orders of £200 or more. Sent by Royal Mail 24 once dispatched — usually with you the next working day. Each piece is packed in a recycled card box. Change your mind within 14 days of delivery and you can return a piece; the postage to us is yours. Boards engraved with your wording or routed with a juice groove, and bespoke commissions, are the exception. If something's wrong with a piece, we pay the postage both ways for the first six months; from six to twelve months, under the workmanship guarantee, you send it to us and we pay to send it back. Returns are easy — write to us first.
