Handmade in North Yorkshire.

Every Timbermere board is made by one pair of hands — Ewald's — in a workshop outside Selby, in North Yorkshire. British-supplied hardwoods, air-dried, hand-shaped and finished with food-safe oil, in small batches, the slow way. No factory, no outsourcing: a real maker, a real bench, boards built to be used for decades. This is every board the workshop has made.

Common questions

Where are Timbermere chopping boards made?

In a one-maker workshop just outside Selby, in North Yorkshire. Every board is made there by hand by Ewald — there's no factory and no outsourcing.

Are the boards made from British wood?

They're British-supplied — bought through a British timber merchant — but the timber itself is grown abroad, mostly in Europe and North America. The boards are made in Britain, by hand, in the Selby workshop. Each board's woods and their origins are listed on its product page.

Can I visit the workshop?

We're a ship-only studio for now, so the workshop isn't open to visitors — but every board ships UK-wide, carefully boxed, usually within a couple of working days for in-stock pieces.
