About this piece

The Rowley is a calm, practical end-grain board with a broad oak working face and a restrained pattern. It has the substance of a proper prep board, but its lighter weight makes it easy to move between counter, sink and table.

A juice groove frames the face for carving or wetter ingredients, while softened edges, side grips and rubber feet make daily use easier. The end-grain surface is forgiving under a knife, and the simple oak tone keeps the piece versatile enough for both preparation and serving.

The timber
European Oak
Quercus robur · Germany

Pale gold, open-grained, and built for work - the classic European bench timber.

A pale honey-gold hardwood that deepens beautifully with age and oil. European Oak is strong, open-grained, and famously durable, long used in furniture, joinery, beams, and hard-working surfaces across Europe. Best for chopping boards and pieces that need to feel solid, practical, and made for real everyday use.

Care instructions

Wash by hand with mild soap. Towel dry. Re-oil every 6-8 weeks with food-safe oil.
