About this piece

The Wyke is an oak end-grain board with a fine vertical figure and a warm, honest surface. It is long enough for proper prep but not too heavy to handle, making it a useful board for everyday cooking.

The juice groove, recessed grips and rubber feet give it the practical features of a serious counter board. Small natural markings in the timber keep the piece individual. The end-grain face is forgiving under a knife, and the simple oak structure makes it easy to live with.

The timber
European Oak
Quercus robur · Germany

Pale gold, open-grained, and built for work - the classic European bench timber.

A pale honey-gold hardwood that deepens beautifully with age and oil. European Oak is strong, open-grained, and famously durable, long used in furniture, joinery, beams, and hard-working surfaces across Europe. Best for chopping boards and pieces that need to feel solid, practical, and made for real everyday use.

Care instructions

Wash by hand with mild soap. Towel dry. Re-oil every 6-8 weeks with food-safe oil.
