A quieter single-timber board with warm cherry tone, juice groove, softened edges and a useful 3.7 cm depth.
The Morton is the calmest piece in this batch: a warm single-timber board with a plain working face and a softly framed groove. It is less graphic than the checkerboards and striped pieces, which gives it a more everyday, understated character.
At 33 x 24 cm it is easy to handle, but the 3.7 cm thickness keeps it from feeling slight. Recessed grips, rubber feet and softened corners make it practical for daily prep, bread and serving, with a surface that will deepen in tone as the oil finish is renewed.
Soft pinks, honey warmth, and a colour that only gets better with age.
A warm, reddish hardwood with a calm, refined grain that glows beautifully once oiled. American Cherry begins with soft pink, honey, and light brown tones, then gradually darkens into a richer amber-red patina with use and exposure to light. Softer than oak and maple, it is ideal for serving boards, bowls, and pieces that are as much about warmth and character as function. Ages gracefully.
Wash by hand with mild soap and warm water. Towel dry straight away and stand the board on edge until fully dry.
Do not soak, dishwash, or leave beside direct heat. Re-oil when the surface starts to look dry; for regular use, every 4-8 weeks is a sensible rhythm.
