About this piece
The Riccall is a single kitchen turner shaped from solid English ash. Its broad head narrows to a fine working edge for turning vegetables, stirring at the pan and lifting food to serve, while the long handle keeps the grip comfortably clear of the cooking surface.
At approximately 34-36 cm long, it has useful reach without feeling cumbersome. The open ash grain runs continuously through the handle and blade, the edges are softened for the hand, and a simple hanging hole keeps it close to the cooker. Natural grain varies from piece to piece.
The timber
Pale, lively and quietly architectural.
English ash is a pale, characterful hardwood with a strong linear grain and clearly drawn growth rings. Once oiled, its cream and straw tones deepen to warm honey, while occasional olive-brown streaks give each board its own rhythm. Hard, resilient and distinctly lighter in appearance than oak or walnut, it brings natural texture to a kitchen without feeling visually heavy.
Care instructions
Wash by hand with mild soap and dry promptly. Do not soak, leave resting in a hot pan, or place in a dishwasher. Re-oil lightly with a food-safe wood oil when the ash begins to look dry.
