About this piece

The Whitby pairs a slim ash serving paddle with three removable acacia bowls for dips, olives, nuts and table nibbles. One paddle and all three bowls are included in the set. The bowls lift away from three circular recesses, so each can be filled separately before being set back on the board. A shaped handle extends from one end, and softened edges keep the paddle comfortable to carry.

The paddle measures 36 x 11 cm with a 1.5 cm profile, and the complete paddle-and-bowls set weighs 0.60 kg. Finished with food-safe oil and wax, it keeps the warm grain visible. Use the bowls for separate sauces alongside nachos, or bring olives and small bites to the table. Food and table props shown in the photographs are not included.

The timber
English Ash
Fraxinus excelsior · Britain & Europe

Pale, lively and quietly architectural.

English ash is a pale, characterful hardwood with a strong linear grain and clearly drawn growth rings. Once oiled, its cream and straw tones deepen to warm honey, while occasional olive-brown streaks give each board its own rhythm. Hard, resilient and distinctly lighter in appearance than oak or walnut, it brings natural texture to a kitchen without feeling visually heavy.

Care instructions

Hand-wash the paddle and wooden bowls with mild soap, then dry promptly. Do not soak or put any part in a dishwasher. Let the pieces dry separately before storing, and refresh with food-safe oil and wax when the timber begins to look dry.
